Why should anyone be a hero for conducting free and fair elections? Shouldn't an election be free and fair in the first place? Reno should keep quiet. If thats hoe Nobel peace prizes are won then several presidents and statesmen should have one. Linda why call someone a hero for doing what he is/was meant to do?

Anonymous said...

No dear Reno...GEJ doesn't deserve jack...he was a weakling..he had no aura to fight anything anyways...so just let him pack his belongings come 29th may back to outer....ALL HE DESERVES NOW ARE SHOES....at least he won't be shoeless till he goes under..

He signed a freaking peace pact and for goodness sake, an average nigerian doesn't want war or riot or chaos, we are not south africans, neither are we french people who strike at every opportunity. So it was GEJ who didn't allow for bloodshed, it was simply a rational thinking of the average nigerian.

Anonymous said...

Even more though too gentle for Nigeria. It's good he left for a tough leader. Notwithstanding, I'm still keeping my eyes on Boko haram. Any strike yet or is there jubilation on their camp too?

Anonymous said...

@ Reno, I couldn't agree less. If it were the other way round, I can imagine how many churches must have been burnt down. And how many countless souls our Lord and Saviour would have received by now. To God be the glory. A humble man is NOT a weak man. GEJ my hero, I'll always love you. Thank you sir.

Hmmm Linda, I heard from a very very reliable source DAT the reason why Jonathan accepted so quietly was because he made Buhari promise in front of d international community that he Jonathan will never be charged or put in jail for any offense by Buhari's govt.

I swear to God! Reno Omokri is nothing but a goat....Jega is the democratic hero and he will always be and continue to be.

Where was President Jonathan when Ekiti state speaker was voted out of sit by just two PDP member?
Where was President Jonathan when people were killed everyday in Rivers state?
Where was President Jonathan when Boko Haram almost finished them in the North?
Where was President Jonathan when FFK said our past leader will die soon?
Where was President Jonathan when Ekiti state Governor did a PDP poster mocking our past leaders?
Where was President Jonathan when the wife said Buhari's brain was dead?
Where was President Jonathan when the wife said they stone anyone who shouts change?
Where was President Jonathan when the wife insult people who were even older than the husband?
Where was President Jonathan when we slip everyday with no electricity?
Where was President Jonathan when we suffered for fuel even the whole world already were already selling cheap fuel?

Our last election was all about ethnicity and religion, who made it so....You so call president Jonathan!

Signing out....Change we want and Change we got!

Anonymous said...

For Wetin? For accepting his defeat? What an insult? He should have manipulated the result and end up like Gbagbo. Noble prize is not pure water bros.

Anonymous said...

I lowkey think buhari is behind boko haram! No bomb blast since yesterday...Hmmmm!!! THEY'RE SATISFIED....The boko haram thing really outshined GEJ's work! I know he performed a lil bit.

Anonymous said...

Reno, stop lying. People died during the elections because contrary to a subsisting court ruling, GEJ deployed the military all over Nigeria to rig the elections. In Kaduna state a young man lost his life. He was shot by the military for no reason. Tell his mother you want to give GEJ a Nobel Peace Prize. In Rivers there was violence - women were even tear-gassed. Tell their children you want to give GEJ a Nobel Peace Prize. In Akwa Ibom there was violence - people were scared to even come out and vote. Tell them you want to give GEJ a Nobel Peace Prize. The very wife of President Jonathan told supporters to "stone anyone asking for change"! This is Nobel-Peace-Prize inducing behaviour where you come from??? Isorait. GEJ will be lucky if he is not taken to the ICC for electoral violence. Don't get ahead of yourself now. You need to find a big black hole and hibernate there for the next eight years...may be some more. It will take awhile for Nigerians to forget your shameful and disgraceful conduct. We haven't forgotten Daniel Kanu of the YEAA (Youths Earnestly Ask for Abacha fame) and we won't forget you either. Sucker...

Anonymous said...

we all need to understand the concept of Greatness and Heroism. I have been reading Revisionist pieces and White-Washing of Sepulchres on several Social Media Platforms with different people calling GEJ a Hero for conceding to Buhari.

So he is now a hero because he conceded? Did he have a choice?

GEJ has played Politics with the Lives of thousands of our Countrymen for too long. History will never be kind to him. Note that He wasn't magnanimous by accepting defeat, the circumstances and factors were all against him. He didn't concede, he was compelled to. He didn't give us democracy, we demanded it and we got it. He is not a hero by any standard.

We should separate sentiments from matters of National Interest, all those who made hate speeches should be prosecuted. All those who stole our collective wealth must be jailed and made to refund the money.

Sending congratulatory messages to Buhari should not confer automatic Immunity to these Wicked Criminals.

The true Heroes are those who stood up in the rain to vote and stayed to make sure their votes count. Not GEJ who allowed impuntiy unchecked, to whom "Stealing is not corruption".

GEJ's concession of defeat is commendable, but not admirable. He must answer for embezzled funds.

No Civilian President would have done lesser than what Jonathan does. All the other presidents who stuck to power in the past have military background, so Jona hasn't done anything spectacular and I don't think he has made any history contrary to the songs many people here are singing.

Now here are my reasons for saying he hasn't made any history:

1. There are international observers everywhere and any nonsense will get him Gbagboed into International prison because they have declared the election as FREE AND FAIR. Remember Charles Taylor, Laurent Gbagbo and Gaddafi. They are all soldiers who are not scared a bit of prison or death, that's why they never stopped fighting. But for GEJ, he is not strong; a civillian like you and I, not ready to languish in prison. Obama himself made allusion to Nigeria election a day before it held, so that is enough to send some sensation of fear into the spine of any African president who has no military background. Jona himself has been made to sign peace treaty twice and also interviewed internationally and made to vow that their would be a credible election.

2. The earlier he agrees with Buhari, the better for him because no matter what he does, BUHARI is ready to suck him dry of the national wealth he has amassed for himself over the years and possibly dump him in prison. You will remember his wife shouting that she wasn't ready to feed her husband in prison. Jonathan is not a strong person at heart, so you should expect him to be scared of prison, unlike the likes of Buhari, Obj and other military converts.
So, calling Buhari on phone isn't a big deal at all, since that would be the last appeal he could do so that his punishment could be lessened. With this, by the time Buhari start crying out loud that Jonathan has done this and that, we the gullible Nigerians will start calling Buhari a wicked man and saying "upon how Jona called this man on phone, yet he is still exposing him that way." That is what we call APPEAL TO PITY(Fallacy)

3. With JEGA's intellectually calm and astute response to Mr Odubebe's bei bei bei, the whole world has already judged the man as a very shrewd and unbiased man, so I don't see any court case or rejection of the election result standing at all. Surely, Jega will defend himself and win in all cases. Also, everyone knows that Jona would have made many advances to Jega in attempts to bribe him; surely JEGA will reveal those advances in court and the story would be 'no story at all.'

4. Jona had to act this way(you all know he is a Nollywood actor) just to buy the apathy of many gullible Nigerians (especially the 'prophet says' and the 'Jona is a gentleman' type). He hasn't done anything well for the past six years, so by gently walking away, he wants to use that to gain last-minute popularity. Well, good luck to him but I ain't buying his ideas.

That scam called jona wants to deceive us 4d last time...
I ask where was the so-called democrat when His party was running a hate campaign based on malicious facts to de-fame characters!? When Okupe, Fayose, FFK and his wife were insulting and calling GMB all sorts of unprintable names? What did he do to caution them? He was smiling @ the background...
When he was using the military to oppress the opposition law makers and governors going for campaign..have we 4goten?
These guy has perfected his act of deception! In 2011, he bought our emotions with d slogan..'I had no shoes'..and he's about scamming us 4d last time to reap were he did not sow..when he finally saw that jega would not do dia bidding to rig..he now wants to claim glory for hiring jega

Nobel what??????
Please please don't anger me.
He shouldn't have conceded peacefully nau, his ass and that of his wife would have gone the Gbagbo route.
Nonsense!

We have already commended his statesmanship. Nobel Peace Prize is going too far.
The way we have rubbished the Nobel Prize sef, it's now for every Tom, Dick and Harry. Just last week I was discussing with a friend of how some people who are not deserving are so quick to be awarded the prize.

This one of the smartest move by GEJ in 6 yrs, the same man dat orchestrated the registration of another APC, fought against the conduct of election, fought against PVC, fought against card readers, fought against Jega, orchestrated a certain YDP, masterminded Rivers and other SE and SS results has suddenly become a democrat by quickly accepting defeat unlike Gbagbo. This is similar to the I have no shoes slogan, meant to get public sympathy and international admiration and I dare say it is really working.

However, for some strange reasons, I feel the last has not being heard from him. He will resume the fight using his proxies very soon. Well I join others in cautiously congratulating him on this highly suspicious move.

Oh please!!!! Cant we hear word!!! He's not a bloody hero. THAT'S HIS JOB!!! To conduct a free and fair election is his responsibility and i will not call him a hero for that. Sure its a good feat on his part, but that's all it was. SHIKENA!!

Double standards is when you think an airport cleaner, with a salary of less than N10,000 (though I learnt that has increased) shouldn't be overly celebrated for returning millions of naira she found that didn't belong to her because that was what she was supposed to do yet believe that a man who lost elections but because he conceded defeat, deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. It doesn't work that way. PGEJ simply did what was expected of him as a statesman & leader of all.

Abeg make him go sit down joor. Yeah it free and fair, but to talk the true it not do or die affair.

I totally agree with you. He is deserving of a nobel peace prize

He lost the seat and gained respect from intelligent mature heads .
Is difficult , in fact highly impossible for a acting president to lose like that in Nigeria .

Sure, he deserves that award .This shows that he's a gentleman that was surrounded by black evil minds headed by his human parrot .
Sir, even though I was never in support with you & Buhari ,but this very election showcased a YOU people don't know .
If you ask me, Nigeria is too rough and stressful for a gentleman like you .

Much respect to you biko !
Now you rock in my world .

What he did was the normal thing today when you're defeated in an election. If he has tried otherwise he will not only like the end result buh regreted it throughout his lifetime. Why should he be given a Nobel Peace prize for doing what he's ought to do? Just like the case of the woman that works at airport who returned a large amount of money she found, if she hadn't and she was cut probably she would be in the prison by now.
President Goodluck Jonathan did what's right of him and we recognised his statesmanship. Buh he doesn't deserve a Nobel Peace prize for his action. Because it is what he's ought to do.

President Jonathan did something honourable by conceding but calling him a hero is a tad too much. Nobody gets a Nobel Peace prize by doing what is required of him. This is taking it too far

Reno, pls stop spreading falsehood. The man rigged and wanted to perform a last-minute miraculous victory using Edo State, in conjunction with compromised military men. A coup was the next step. U and I know the truth. Not everyone is a fool, so shut it!

There is nothing extraordinaire when those opportuned to be in power act like.. sane! Jonathan wasn't present at the polling stations, neither was he armed with weapons to ensure electoral smoothness. The election was free and fair because majority of the populace are now illuminated into shunning every politically motivated and manipulative blood shedding errands! The scape goats (poor masses) that are always victims of any political wars would soon run outta numbers, maybe till then, these wolves in sheep clothings cajoling applauds for noble characters would start nibbling on themselves as meat. For goodness sake, must there be a war because of an election or a presidential office?? what is the big deal when its peaceful?? is it not expected of a sane president to ensure peace of her citizens pre and pro-election?? All this propaganda (MADNESS) exalting jonathan is a strategy to rob the president-elect and the citizens of the memory of pains jonathan and his cohorts has brought upon this land! This passing out government of jonathan has in diverse means stolen the future of our children! This good for nothing jonathan's regime labelled our parents lazy, weakling, poor, inadequate!jonathan's regime raped, stole and sold our future mothers into lifetime slavery! all in exchange for power, all in exchange for access into looting our country of its treasuries! Buhari must probe those who deserves to be probed! jail those who abused the law!...WAIT...until you start hearing and reading how much damage and embezzlement that has been cornered by your so-called jonathan's administration! RUBBISH!!! and that woman that went to a mid-night college calling GMB an expired drug?...here is my word to her... an expired drug might do no harm because it's ridded of it's potency, but on the other hand...an expired drug might drive you as far as to the midst of drybones and tombs...for you madam jonathan, i sure pray you the latter consequences! Listen again to jonathan's broadcast, he gave the pdp a room to raise a banner of war!!! don't be fooled again!

GMB has won, we have heard. Change has come,
we agree. The Nigerian Lee Kwan Yew has
arrived. We welcome him. However, we expect
to see this change PRONTO.
Constant light in four years. WAEC pass rate
should be 90%. In four years. There should be
no more potholes on our roads. In four years.
We shouldn't hear of crime. In four years. There
must be no corruption in ANY sector of our
public/private lives. The Naira should gain
grounds against foreign currency(that one no
favour me but I go still talk am). In four years.
Fuel price should be N16. In four years. All of
these and many more. In four years.
To all those who rained abuses on GEJ and
Patience in the name of campaign, all I ask is, be
as critical of the incoming government as u were
of GEJ's. We will not hear the excuse that
Nigeria's problems did not start with Buhari ooo.
We will not hear that change takes time o. Let
us judge him by the same yardsticks.
At the same time, we have not forgotten all the
promises o. Stipends to the poorest families.
Payment of 'allawee' to unemployed graduates.
Feeding Nigerian students daily. When he made
these promises, he knew about the country's
reserves. He knew that the crude prices were
falling. He said he would do it, and Nigerians
believed him.
We should watch carefully. How will he
constitute his cabinet? What will his body
language be towards bigwigs in his party that
have been accused of corruption? How exactly
does he intend to "fight corruption?"
Four years is a long time. A lot can be done in
four years, For the sake of our dear country, I
sincerely hope that change has come.

Jonathan had no choice but to conceed. He just has to be smart. Do you know how many presidents called him to warn him not to tamper with the election result??? He did a good thing for himself by not being greedy and still loosing at the end. Jonathan has a way of always playing the victim, just like when he went round our churches saying boko haram is making it ungovernable for him. I am happy he got scared, took buhari's offer of immunity and turned his back on dokubo's and his cabinet's planned. bloodshed. A word is enough even for the not so wise.
